The offer is valid and has been properly accepted.  What next?

There must be consideration, or something of value given in exchange for performance or a promise of performance, something bargained for.  Generally, the parties must exchange something. On an aside, the consideration requirement is usually not fulfilled when a party promises something for something already done.  For example, Girl painted Boy’s house last week without being promised anything, then Boy promises Girl today that he will pay her $475 and a bag of chips.  Boy’s promise would not be enforceable.
