If I have to sue someone for breach of contract, does it matter where I sue?
In Texas, there are permissible venues for filing a breach of contract claim. For a claim on a written contract where the obligation was to be performed in a specific county or a specific place in a county, the permissible venues are either the county named in the contract or the domicile of the defendant. If the contract involved a consumer transaction and it was in writing, the venues for suit are either the county wherein the contract was signed or the county wherein the defendant lived when suit commenced.
