Can an adult adopt another adult?

Although there is never really need for one adult to adopt another adult, absent caretaking for the elderly, it does happen from time to time. Generally, though, one adult can adopt another adult as long both the adopting adult and the person wanting to be adopted agrees to the adoption. There generally are no social studies which are required and the process is usually fairly simple. However, it is still important to consult with an experienced adoption attorney to assist you with the legal process as there are a number of different factors and legal implications which need to be considered.

If you or someone you know is need of family law services, please do not hesitate to call Smith & Garg at 281-210-0010 for a consultation today or use our Contact Form.
